Grow the Good Gala
What is the Gala?
The gala is centered around an annual silent auction event, where we procure items and secure local sponsors to enhance the experience. In 2023, this effort successfully raised over $17,000 Mercy Works, the selected charitable organization. This black-tie occasion is crafted to foster connections among Mendoza graduate students, alumni, faculty, and staff, offering an evening filled with philanthropy and community spirit. (Please note that tickets are required for attendance.)
Mission
The Mendoza College of Business works to inspire virtuous individuals with diverse interests and uncommon potential to become purpose-driven leaders. It is no longer sufficient, in our personal lives, our workplaces, and our communities, to continue with business as usual.
The Grow the Good Gala was seeded and developed by Mendoza’s MBA class of 2023, who recognized the unique ability of every Mendoza graduate student to act on that mission while in school. The gala united and activated the entire Mendoza graduate student population around the mission of a local South Bend nonprofit. Additionally, the gala connected students, faculty, and staff across the Mendoza Graduate Business programs for a night of philanthropy, community, and fun.

2024 Charity Served
This year, we are excited to partner with Mercy Works for the Grow the Good Gala. Mercy Works, a service program within Campus Ministry, embodies the call to serve those in need as outlined in Matthew 25, such as feeding the hungry and sheltering the homeless. All proceeds from the event will directly benefit their important initiatives, supporting their mission to create positive change in the community. By joining forces with Mercy Works, we aim to amplify the impact of our fundraising efforts and further contribute to their outstanding work.
As we approach the main event, there is a series of upcoming volunteer events designed to make a meaningful impact in our community.
